About your Coach Dianne began playing tennis at age 7 By age 16, she had won a range of local, state, national and international tournaments. The same year, she joined the Women’s Professional Tennis Tour (WTA), travelling to Europe and the United States. Competing in Futures, Satellites and qualifying tournaments, she had her first major win when she defeated American #1, Chris Evert after earning her way into the Avon Boston WTA event. By age 19, and after a year under the wing with legendary coach, Harry Hopman, Dianne reached a career high ranking of number #2 on the WTA Winter indoor circuit, and an overall WTA ranking of #4 in the world.
